30 years at Hacklin Hamiko, congratulations Marjo!
This week we gathered to celebrate Marjo’s 30 years with us. A few speeches, a gift, and a lot of smiles. Thirty years in one company is a long time. In freight forwarding, it’s even longer. Every shipment is a little puzzle: a delayed vessel, a customs surprise, a customer who needs something yesterday. Nobody who has been in this business for a quarter of a century has done the same day twice.
So what does 30 years in the same place really mean? To us, it means someone who knows our customers by name and remembers the shipment that went sideways in 2009 and how it was fixed. It means knowing which questions to ask before a problem becomes a problem. In logistics, that kind of experience can’t be written into a manual. It lives in people, and it’s what keeps goods moving when the plan changes, which it always does.
Hacklin is a family business, and moments like this show what that means in practice. We aren’t in a hurry to measure people by quarters. We value those who stay, learn and grow with the company, and we’re proud when someone chooses to build their working life here. Long careers are not a coincidence, they’re a result of how we treat each other.
Marjo, thank you for 30 years of big-heartedness. You look out for the people around you and share what you know with every new colleague who walks through the door. Many of us have learned the work, and a lot about people too, from you. Here’s to many more interesting days together 💙
